The Downtown Adventure Race Topeka was created in 2011 by the creative minds of Robb Cummings and Ryan Wenrich. They brought their concept to the doors of Let’s Help and were embraced with open arms.
This is the only fundraiser for Let’s Help, the nonprofit working to break the cycle of poverty and promote self-sufficiency and they put the proceeds to good use. Since 1969 Let’s Help has been the safety net for those in need. Each year they give out 85,000 free meals; emergency utility assistance to 6,000 individuals; food and clothing to 11,000 families; GED classes to 200 students; and job readiness training for individuals 55 and older.
The first year of the DART was an immediate success and over the last nine years it has evolved into a race unlike any other in Topeka. Teams will work together to accomplish both Mental and Physical tasks at key locations throughout Downtown Topeka. This race is unlike any other foot race in Topeka and can be enjoyed by both experienced racers and amateurs.
This event requires many hours to organize and many more volunteer hours the day of the race. Register your team or sign up to volunteer below. Either way, you’ll want to be a part of this wonderful event that highlights Downtown Topeka and benefits a great cause! Let’s Help has always been the safety net for those facing adversity in our community and by participating in this event you help them, help others. Thanks for giving back while having fun!
